A belt-drive system uses pulleys and a belt to bring pump RPM down to 1,400–1,700 RPM — the speed at which commercial plunger pumps deliver their longest service life. Same PSI. Same GPM. Significantly less wear.

Each Belt Box ships with pulleys sized to your specific pump and engine. Compatibility covers the most common commercial brands Ameritech services and supports.
Engine compatibility includes Honda GX series (GX270, GX390, GX690), Kohler CH/CV series, Briggs & Stratton commercial engines, and Vanguard commercial engines.
Disconnect fuel line, drain pump oil, and unbolt the gearbox from the pump and engine. Set the original gearbox aside — you may want to keep it as a backup.
Position the Belt Box frame on the engine and pump mounting points. Bolt the frame in place using the supplied hardware. Verify alignment before final torque.
Attach the engine pulley and pump pulley using the supplied keyway and bolts. Slide the belt onto both pulleys and tension per the included spec sheet.
Refill the pump with the manufacturer's recommended pump oil. Prime the pump by running water through the system at low rpm for a few seconds before applying load.
Start the engine and check for leaks, vibration, and proper belt alignment.
